Location: Bar Outro, Canberra ACT
We are a restaurant located in Braddon, and we’re looking for a Full-time chef / Part-time chef to join our kitchen team
Our menu focuses on wine matching and seasonal produce, with frequent changes depending on what our suppliers provide. We love exploring fresh and exciting culinary ideas. If you’re passionate about evolving, experimenting with new concepts, and keeping things interesting, we’d love to hear from you!
We’re a fun and dynamic team working in an open kitchen, so the ideal candidate must be well-presented and have a strong understanding of food safety and OH&S requirements.

Your success in this role will be supported by:

  • Demonstrated experience in medium- to high-volume à la carte restaurants
  • Experience with charcoal grills and working with high-quality, fresh ingredients
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards in food preparation and presentation
  • Proactive involvement in ensuring quality and consistency in dishes
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the kitchen team
  • Contribution to maintaining hygiene, food standards, and cleanliness in all kitchen areas
  • Strong knowledge of food safety requirements
  • Service-oriented mindset with great attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills
  • Flexibility to work on a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Genuine passion for food, flavor, and creativity

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Chef in modern Australian cuisine
  • Proven experience in a high-volume restaurant environment
  • Experience cooking with Australian native ingredients and using Asian or locally sourced produce
  • Experience cooking with wood fire
