Description General Job Summary The Loss Mitigation Document Specialist is responsible for ensuring financial packages that are received are complete according to investor requirements and following up on a timely basis for all incomplete financial packages. Summary of Essential Job Functions Responsible for reviewing financial packages for completeness and scanning all documents received. Responsible for overseeing the flow of all incoming and outgoing departmental correspondence. Communicates with borrowers providing counseling regarding foreclosure alternatives. Responsible for reconciling modifications, upload modifications to sub-servicer and mail completed modifications to the investor. Work with other departments to ensure appropriate changes to the system, payments are applied correctly, and foreclosures are placed on hold or cancelled as appropriate. Enter all actions via appropriate comment codes and/or message lock in the customer tracking servicing system. Maintain servicing system with appropriate codes and message locks. Maintain accuracy with payments process to loans in loss mitigation status. Ensure that all loan modifications are executed correctly and are compliant with agency requirements. Ensure timely recording of loss mitigation documents when required. Mail original documents to the proper document custodian. Ensure loan modifications are recorded timely when recording is required. Other Job Functions Attend all training sessions for department Update and review announcements and changes to workout programs. All other duties as assigned by management. Requirements Education, Training and Work Experience High school diploma (or equivalent) required Previous experience in mortgage loan servicing desired Previous experience in collections and/or default servicing desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Maintain & foster positive relationships with customers and business partners Complete all assigned training in a timely manner Provide professional communication in both oral & written expression Excellent organizational, time management & analytical skills Able to communicate effectively High degree of accuracy High degree of dependability Able to effectively problem solve Working Environment Primary working environment is within an indoor climate-controlled office space and/or a private home office or some combination which will be at managements sole discretion. Employee may be subject to florescent lighting, dust, and other normal indoor allergens. Employee may work in close proximity of coworkers and occasionally independently in quiet environments.
