Description ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - Patrol the resort including all buildings and grounds by vehicle or walking to ensure security and safety of the property. Watch for conditions that could result in injury or loss due to inside and outside concerns such as fire, water leakage, spills and hazards associated with weather. - Report any unusual or suspicious condition or circumstance to the Director of Security, a Security supervisor or police authorities. - Open or lock doors, windows and gates at proper times based on hours of operation, including the Inn, Birdwood Golf Course and The Sports Club. - Report any incident of visitor or employee action which could result in injury or loss to the company or to employees to a supervisor. - Complete initial worker’s compensation write-ups and guest incident reports and fax them to the appropriate insurance company. - Respond to all emergencies such as medical, fire and nature. - Complete daily shift reports, incident reports and all forms related to SOP. - Respond to all calls regardless of nature. - Control all resort outlet keys after hours. - Assist other departments with special events. - Assist with traffic control by standing at assigned stations to direct cars and guests. - Assist with crowd control by standing at assigned stations to keep people clear of residential areas. - Assist with parking concerns during high traffic. - Answer other calls not pertaining to Security after hours, including Housekeeping, Bell staff, Room Service, etc. - Deliver papers and pick-up menus. - Contribute to overall resort team effort by completing additional duties assigned. Requirements Valid Virginia vehicle operator’s permit and clean driving record. - At least 18 years old. Ability to work evenings, overnight and weekends. - Ability to cover different shifts as needed. - Ability to respond to emergencies when off-duty. Desirable: - Previous customer service experience. - Police department training, military training or security guard experience. - American Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification, including AED training. - Strong verbal and writing skills.
Responsibilities
The Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for patrolling the resort to ensure security and safety, reporting any unusual conditions, and responding to emergencies. Additional duties include assisting with traffic and crowd control, completing incident reports, and supporting other departments during special events.
