West Egg Security is expanding and seeking for the skilled Loss prevention Officer (LPO) to join our team at Vancouver (British Columbia). In this role, the Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for minimizing financial losses related to theft, fraud, and policy violations. This role involves monitoring surveillance systems, conducting investigations, performing security patrols, and ensuring compliance with safety and security procedures. The officer works proactively to deter theft and ensure a safe and secure environment for staff, customers, and company assets.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum High School diploma or Grade 12 education
  • Minimum of 1 year of Loss Prevention security experience preferably in Canada.
  • Must Possess a valid Security license
  • Excellent written & verbal communication and active listening skills
  • Able to work nights, weekends, weekdays, and holidays
  • Able to work outdoors any weather conditions with excessive walking and long periods of standing
Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES:

  • Conduct routine plain clothes patrols of the site (interior and exterior), maintaining a covert presence to observe suspicious and criminal activity under all statues and laws.
  • The Loss Prevention Officer may be required to effect an arrest in accordance with the Criminal Code of Canada when lawful grounds exist.
  • Monitor CCTV and access control systems to detect and respond to irregular or suspicious behavior.
  • Prevent unauthorized entry, trespassing, and loss of property through proactive surveillance and incident management.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to incidents, emergencies, and alarms while following established protocols.
  • Complete detailed and accurate incident reports, logbooks, and shift summaries.
  • Engage respectfully with site staff, visitors, clients, and members of the public.
  • Investigate accidents, thefts, and other incidents; gather witness statements and support the resolution of incidents with professionalism and discretion.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency responders when required.
  • Maintain confidentiality, uphold policies, and contribute to a culture of safety and respect on site.
  • Report maintenance or safety issues observed during patrols.
