POSITION OVERVIEW: Reporting to the Safety/Loss Prevention Supervisor, the Safety & Security Technician is responsible to provide security guidance, training and support to the departments and personnel at the site. This role requires frequent interaction with department employees, supervision, management, and vendors to provide assistance, service and support.   RESPONSIBILITIES: * Ensuring that Security check-in procedures are followed.  * Ensure that employees, visitors and contractors meet safety and documentation requirements prior to site entry. * Assist departments and management staff with security and safety needs. * Accurately maintain contractor data system and files.  * Effectively communicate with internal and external partners to ensure compliance with legal obligations and Site Safety policies and procedures using various means (i.e. telephone, two-way radio, email). * Perform security checks of designated areas as required. * Any other job duties that may be required.  QUALIFICATIONS: * High School Diploma or equivalent, required * 3+ years of related mining experience or related security experience preferred * Knowledgeable of current security technology and surveillance methods preferred * Intermediate proficiency level with Microsoft Office Suite, preferred * Must have valid driver’s license  Florida Canyon is an equal opportunity employer, values diversity in its workforce, and encourages applications from qualified candidates.
