POSITION SUMMARY

  • Check the delivery log daily.
  • Alerts Sales Consultants that sold units are arriving.
  • Physically checks new vehicles into the dealership, noting and reporting any damage from transit.
  • Assigns stock numbers to each new vehicle, puts the number in the vehicle window, and ensures that the keys are properly tagged and stored in the key machine.
  • Notes that the appropriate accessories have been installed in vehicles.
  • Parks vehicles in inventory, in stock for new vehicles, or in the service area for vehicles being serviced.
  • Ensures that the Owner’s Manual and appropriate accessories are in the vehicle.
  • Completes the odometer statements for all outbound and inbound vehicles.
  • Drives dealer trade vehicles to other dealerships when requested. Ensures that incoming dealer trades are promptly and accurately checked into the dealership. Is detail-oriented in that this person checks in new vehicles and dealer trades for any noticeable damage.
  • Ensures that newly sold vehicles have full gas tanks prior to delivery to customers.
  • Checks to ensure that Technicians have accurately completed PDI (pre-delivery inspection) forms.
  • Drives service/repair customers to their homes or place of employment.
  • Runs miscellaneous errands for the dealership.
  • Assists in ensuring the neat appearance of the dealership (e.g., picks up litter, shovels snow off vehicles, wipes off showroom vehicles, cleans offices, windows).
  • Assists in directing traffic for service events.
  • Replaces trade vehicles’ retail plate frames.
  • Entails detailing and gassing newly sold vehicles.
  • Involves safely driving customers to and from the dealership.
  • Involves driving and walking long distances.
  • Involves lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy equipment.
  • Requires the use of safety goggles, boots, rubber gloves, and proper clothing when handling chemicals.
