Description Job Title: Low-Voltage Division Manager / Lead Technician Location: Minneapolis–St. Paul Metro Area, Minnesota About Cal-Tex Electric Cal-Tex Electric Inc. is a growing electrical contractor expanding our operations in the Minneapolis–St. Paul metro area. We are looking for a motivated professional to build and lead our Low-Voltage Division in this market. This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to take ownership of a division and help grow it within an established electrical contracting company. Position Overview Cal-Tex Electric is seeking a self-motivated and driven individual interested in helping establish and run our Low-Voltage Division in the Twin Cities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, leading installations, coordinating projects, and helping develop the division’s capabilities and customer base. This role is perfect for someone who wants more responsibility and the opportunity to grow a division within a company that is actively expanding. Requirements Primary Responsibilities Lead and help grow Cal-Tex Electric’s Low-Voltage Division in the Minneapolis–St. Paul area Install, program, and troubleshoot low-voltage systems including: Structured cabling (Cat6, Cat6A, Fiber) Network infrastructure Security and surveillance systems Access control systems Fire alarm systems Audio/visual systems Read and interpret project plans, specifications, and low-voltage schematics Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and customers Assist with estimating, material procurement, and project planning Perform testing, certification, and documentation of installed systems Ensure installations meet NEC, local codes, and industry standards Maintain high standards for safety, organization, and workmanship Preferred Qualifications BICSI Certification (Installer, Technician, or RCDD preferred) Certifications such as: NICET (Fire Alarm) EST or other fire alarm manufacturer certifications Experience with structured cabling installation and certification testing Experience installing or servicing fire alarm, security, or access control systems Ability to manage projects and work independently Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Additional Qualifications Valid driver’s license Strong communication and leadership skills Ability to work independently while coordinating with company leadership Commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction MN Power Limited Technician License What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Opportunity to lead and grow a new division Support from an established electrical contractor Opportunities for training and certification advancement Long-term career growth with a growing company Medical & Dental Insurance Employer-paid Life Insurance 401k with Employer Match PTO and Holidays Company Phone
