Communications is seeking a Low Voltage / Electrical Technician to install structured cabling. Join our team in Harrisburg, PA. This position combines the expertise of a commercial electrician with the technical knowledge of a low voltage and structured cabling technician. The technician will install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, structured cabling, voice and data networks, and telecommunications equipment in commercial, industrial, and healthcare environments. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position that includes a company vehicle, gas card, and ongoing technical training following a short probationary period. Pay · $22 – $28/hr. (2–5 years experience) · $28 – $35/hr. (5+ years, fiber experience, BICSI or Journeyman Electrician License) Responsibilities Follow all company safety policies and OSHA safety standards Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and construction drawings Install electrical wiring, circuits, panels, and control equipment Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cabling Install and support telecommunications equipment such as routers, switches, network devices, and alarm systems Install control and distribution equipment including switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels Run, pull, terminate, splice, and test cabling for voice and data networks Ensure installations comply with NEC requirements and industry standards Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on both electrical and low-voltage systems Label and document installations, maintaining accurate system records and inventory Collaborate with project managers, technicians, and other trades on job sites Maintain professional communication with customers, suppliers, and team members Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma, Technical School Diploma, or equivalent 3+ years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical work and/or low voltage systems Working knowledge of electrical systems, structured cabling, and telecommunications infrastructure Ability to read blueprints and installation drawings Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record Ability to safely operate industry tools, testing equipment, and installation devices Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Professional appearance and strong customer service skills Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to climb ladders and work at heights Ability to bend, kneel, and work in construction environments Ability to lift up to 80 pounds Ability to work in varying environmental conditions including heat, cold, and humidity Preferred Qualifications Journeyman Electrician license or completion of an electrical apprenticeship Experience with fiber optic termination and testing Experience installing commercial structured cabling systems BICSI certification or other industry certifications Work Schedule Full-time Monday – Friday Overtime available based on project needs Benefits & Perks Competitive compensation Paid holidays and paid time off 401(k) with company match Supplemental life insurance and long-term disability options Company vehicle with gas card Paid training and certification opportunities Schedule Full-time Monday – Friday Overtime available
