We are a leading security integration company serving clients across Canada and the U.S. We specialize in Access Control, CCTV, Intercom, Door Hardware, and other physical security systems. We are seeking a Security Estimator who is analytical, self-motivated, and experienced in quoting complex security system installations. This is a remote, full-time role following Eastern Time (ET) business hours, from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Security Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for physical security system projects. You will analyze drawings and specifications, assess material and labor costs, and collaborate with internal teams to prepare quotes that reflect the company’s high standards and commitment to client satisfaction.

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2–3+ years of experience in security system estimating (Access Control, CCTV, Intercom, Door Hardware, etc.)
  • Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
  • Strong proficiency in English (verbal and written communication)
  • Experience with estimating and bidding processes in construction or security
  • Remote work experience with strong self-management and time organization skills
  • Solid proficiency in Office 365 (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Zoho CRM/Books, or similar tools
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

NICE TO HAVE / BONUS SKILLS

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Architecture, or related technical fields
  • Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. building/security codes
  • Experience creating layout drawings or technical submittals
  • French language proficiency is an asset
Responsibilities
  • Analyze technical drawings and specifications (including door schedules and construction plans) to prepare accurate material take-offs and cost estimates
  • Develop and submit detailed quotations and bid proposals
  • Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and vendors to confirm pricing, product availability, and timelines
  • Generate drawings and basic layouts when required using AutoCAD or similar software
  • Maintain organized records of estimates, proposals, and project documentation
  • Participate in handover meetings with operations for awarded projects
  • Contribute to improving estimating templates and cost databases
  • Ensure consistency, professionalism, and accuracy in every quote
