WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a full-time Low-Voltage Technician with a passion for service and commercial construction.

MAJOR EXPECTATIONS & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensures the success of each assigned technology systems project including but not limited to the following technology systems: structured cabling, access control, surveillance and security, audio/visual, distributed antenna systems, and fire alarm.
  • Controls and tracks work assignments for assigned projects and provides effective and efficient solutions for customers as needed
  • Works closely with the EPS Technology Systems Field Supervisor and the assigned Project Manager by supporting new and existing customers, including providing maintenance services for new and past projects
  • Works as part of the EPS Technology Systems Team on larger commercial projects and independently on smaller projects.
  • Responsible for following up with customers before, during, and after the project with clear communication regarding project status ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Completes all required project documents and paperwork including Materials used, photos, test results, and providing information for accurate billing and estimates to customers.
  • Works closely with the assigned Project Manager to determine labor needs for commercial technology system projects, installation, and project closeout to completion.
  • Develops and maintains strong customer relationships as a trusted advisor setting project objectives and ensures final project meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations.
  • Continuously and proactively seeks opportunities with customers advising them of the services EPS can provide and in turn shares information with EPS Project Managers and Service Department Manager how to best serve customers.

QUALIFICATIONS SET YOU APART

  • Proficiency in reading schematics and technical documents related to low-voltage and technology systems.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC regulations and safety standards for low-voltage work.
  • Power Limited Technician Licensure
  • OSHA 10 and first aid certifications.
  • A Medical Health Card.
  • Highly skilled and versatile professional who has experience in problem solving and the ability to ensure the smooth operation of any low-voltage systems
  • Proficiency with business software, including Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Be able to give and receive detailed information through verbal and written communication.
  • Operate motor vehicles, driving to and from work sites, corporate offices, and vendor locations.
  • Sufficient vision to read instructions, blueprints, documents, etc., as well as to drive in daylight and at night and to avoid hazards on the job site. Must be able to distinguish colors in order to identify wiring color codes.
  • Apply extensive physical mobility (manual dexterity, reaching, bending, climbing, crawling, kneeling, arm and leg extension) to supervise and perform routine activities including the ability to climb stairs and ladders, run conduit, etc.
  • Possess extensive arm and hand mobility and strength to lift, hold, reach, carry, push and pull commonly used materials. Able to use power and hand tools on construction site. Able to move tools and materials into and out of vehicles.
  • Regularly lift and move 20 - 35 pounds. Occasionally lift up to 50 to 100 pounds.
  • Walk over uneven terrain, over debris and other obstacles.
  • Regularly withstand Minnesota hot and cold weather conditions to perform outdoor responsibilities.
