Position Summary: The Carroll School seeks teaching candidates with a growth mindset and a true passion and commitment to lifelong learning. We are seeking candidates with experience and/or interest in teaching students with language-based learning differences, and who are drawn to acquire the necessary competencies to successfully teach our type of learners. This is a full-year, benefit-eligible position. Responsibilities: Serve as the building substitute teacher and provide coverage for a variety of classrooms, as needed, for short and long-term leaves. Deliver lessons prepared by Carroll School faculty, organize the classroom environment, and maintain classroom routines that support student learning. For long-term leaves: plan, prepare, and deliver lessons, which may include serving as the Homeroom teacher/Advisor for 8-9 students. Act as primary liaison between the school and the families of assigned students Monitor and support students’ academic progress, social-emotional development, and overall well-being Additional duties will be assigned, including lunch/recess duty and dismissal duty. Develop positive working relationships with all constituencies: students, parents, colleagues, and administration Work in the extended day program for the first three years (fall, winter or spring). Additional compensation for extended day work Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree required, Masters Degree preferred Associate Level Orton-Gillingham training course with practicum preferred Must be enthusiastic, energetic, and enjoy working with children Willingness to train in highly specialized approaches to teaching students with language-based learning differences Ability to be flexible, timely, and professional. Proficient written and verbal communication skills Experience with Google Docs and Google Classroom is helpful but not required Exact salary offered is dependent on educational credentials and years of experience. 1-10 years $60,100-$80,441 11-25 years $79,208-$102,157
