The Study Academy is currently seeking a French Teacher for our Lower School.
We are seeking an innovative and experienced language teacher to lead our French program in the lower school (grades 3-8). We are a progressive, independent day school that is anchored in the belief that all learning for all students is possible. We hope to build on our growing organization with an innovative and progressive language teacher.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • OCT certification is preferred, but not required. Candidates with teaching qualifications from outside of Ontario will be considered.
  • Experience working with middle school students, either in a general classroom setting, one-on-one setting, or alternative program setting.
  • Experience with neurodiverse students with learning differences is a plus.
  • High level of comfort working in a growth-focused environment based on frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
  • High quality written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of comfort with digital resources such as Google Suite

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Classroom management and behaviour management in conjunction with teaching team
  • Proactively and effectively leading lessons and communicating with teaching team on student progress
  • Effectively and consistently using the school’s Learning Management System and Student Information System
  • Utilizing individualized strategies with students
  • Communicating openly, honestly, and transparently with students and teachers
  • Utilizing Individual Learning Plans to guide work
