Job Details Level: Entry Job Location: Lower School - Melbourne, FL 32901 Education Level: 4 Year Degree Job Shift: Day Job Category: Education POSITION PURPOSE: This employee is responsible for carrying out the lesson plans of the teacher for whom he/she is substituting and meeting the duties of teaching as outlined in laws and policies. QUALIFICATIONS: Prior teaching experience is preferred. Excellent communication skills are required. Bachelor's degree preferred. REPORTS TO: Substitute Coordinator POSITION STATUS: Per diem EXPECTATION: Serves as a positive role model and an ambassador of Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy who supports the mission, vision and core values of the school. Must be enthusiastic, flexible, and have a cooperative spirit. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Follows the lesson plan left by the teacher for whom he/she is substituting in accordance with district's philosophy, goals and objectives. 2. Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated. 3. Establishes and maintains order in the classroom. 4. Maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning. 5. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, materials, equipment and facilities. 6. Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and School Policies. 7. Cooperates with school personnel. 8. Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with other employees. 9. Reports to the principal or his/her designee at the beginning and end of the school day. 10. Other responsibilities as directed by the Head of Lower School. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, and feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; talk and hear; engage in moderately strenuous physical activity both indoors and out. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and may frequently walk on slippery or uneven surfaces. The noise level in the work environment is often loud. Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy is a drug-free, smoke/vape-free campus.
Responsibilities
