Description The LPC Intern provides supervised mental health counseling services to individuals, couples, families, or groups. The intern works under a licensed supervisor to develop clinical skills, complete required supervised hours, and deliver ethical, evidence-based care. Requirements Key Responsibilities Conduct intake assessments and psychosocial evaluations for clients. Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results. Provide individual, group, couples, or family therapy sessions. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and progress notes. Participate in clinical supervision and case consultations. Monitor client progress and adjust treatment interventions when needed. Provide crisis intervention and referrals to appropriate services. Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in accordance with professional guidelines. Collaborate with other professionals such as psychiatrists, social workers, and medical staff. Attend training, workshops, and staff meetings to enhance clinical skills. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and in the process of pursuing a Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, or related mental health field. State approval as an LPC Intern / LPC-Associate (or eligible for intern status). Ability to work under the supervision of a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC, LPC-MH, LMFT, CSW-PIP, Psychologist, or Psychiatrist). Knowledge of counseling theories and therapeutic techniques. Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in clinical counseling, practicum, or internship. Training in modalities such as CBT, trauma-informed therapy, play therapy, or family therapy. Experience working with diverse populations.
