Description Harbor’s Edge is a premier 5-star, resort-style Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located alongside the beautiful harbor in Norfolk, Virginia. Our community consists of 300 Independent Living Residential Units, a 33-bed (Medicare/private) Skilled Nursing Healthcare Unit, a 40-bed Assisted Living Unit, and 34-bed Memory Support Unit. We are seeking compassionate, highly qualified part-time and full-time LPNs to join our teams to deliver excellent care for our residents. The ideal candidates will have senior living experience (e.g., long-term care, assisted living, memory support) with a passion for working with an elderly population. Shift Schedule: 7AM - 7PM or 7PM - 7AM Responsibilities: Provide direct nursing care services to residents, following established care plans, promote the physical, personal, and emotional well-being of each resident to help actively maintain maximum levels of self-care and independence. Perform resident assessments under the direction of the Director of Nursing (DON) and scope of practice, observing and documenting pertinent information, changes in condition, and reporting any changes immediately to nursing and physician management as directed. Check and record vital signs, weights, and blood sugars, Administer medications, injections, and other treatments as appropriately authorized. Perform restorative nursing techniques including proper positioning, ADL training, and Passive Range of Motion. Assist residents with transfers and ambulation as ordered by the physician using proper body mechanics, use of facility gait belts, back supports, and mechanical devices. Assist residents with activities of daily living as needed, including bathing/showering, oral care, toileting, dressing, etc., as well as participation in recreational activities. Assist with resident admissions and discharges. Requirements REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience working with elderly individuals, particularly those with dementia. At least two (2) years of experience in the CCRC, Long term, or assisted living level of care industry or related field. Required: Possess a current unencumbered license as a Licensed Practical Nurse from the State Board of Nursing of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Current certification in Adult CPR and AED required. Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, medical supplies, and equipment. Experience with clinical and diagnostic procedures. Assessment and documentation skills. Moderate computer skills. Experience with use of electronic medical records. Strong reading, writing, and communication skills; ability to follow both written and verbal instructions effectively. Demonstrated ability to interact with the elder population, staff, families, and the management team in a respectful, compassionate, and patient manner, while showing flexibility, adaptability, and strong interpersonal skills. Consistently upholds residents’ rights, showing integrity and discretion when handling personal and health-related information.
