The ideal candidate will have experience working in an outpatient or clinic environment—or a strong willingness to learn and adapt to medical office workflows. This role requires a balance of clinical knowledge, administrative skills, and excellent patient service to ensure smooth clinic operations and high-quality care.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active LPN license in good standing with the provincial College of Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Previous experience in a medical clinic, family practice, or specialty office preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills, including administering injections and assisting with Pap tests.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems and medical office workflows.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and families.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and patient confidentiality standards (e.g., PHIA/HIA).
  • Experience in women’s health, chronic disease management, or minor procedures considered an asset.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of physicians.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, including vital signs, histories, and preliminary assessments.
  • Administer medications, injections, and immunizations as directed by the physician.
  • Assist with in-clinic procedures, including Pap tests and women’s health exams.
  • Support chronic disease management programs (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, women’s health).
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system (e.g., Healthquest, Accuro, Epic, or Cerner).
  • Triage patient calls and provide health information in line with clinic protocols.
  • Educate patients on medication administration, follow-up care, and lifestyle management.
  • Collaborate with physicians, Medical Office Assistants (MOAs), and other healthcare team members to deliver coordinated patient care.
  • Support clinic operations, including supply management, infection control practices, and quality improvement initiatives.
