Description The Harman Eye Clinic is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide patient care in our ambulatory surgery center. Key Responsibilities Perform preoperative and postoperative patient calls Admit and discharge patients Assess, document, and monitor patient conditions Administer medications and treatments as ordered Circulate intraoperatively as needed Monitor vital signs and assist with diagnostic testing Educate patients and families on procedures and post-operative care Maintain accurate medical records and comply with regulatory standards Follow all safety, infection control, and compliance policies (HIPAA, OSHA, WISHA) Maintain knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and OR setup Complete the required continuing education Skills & Competencies Medication administration (oral, IV, IM, SQ, ophthalmic) IV insertion and removal Aseptic technique and sterile field maintenance Patient positioning and discharge Blood glucose and INR testing Laser safety and equipment operation Surgical time-out protocol Requirements Current BLS/AED certification is required. One (1) year of operating room or ambulatory surgery center experience is preferred. Knowledge of sterile techniques applicable to the OR and surgical procedures. Familiarity with ophthalmic procedures and patient positioning. Understanding of proper handling of surgical instruments, tissue specimens, cultures, and smears. Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Initiative and ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Holds a current license from the State Board of Nursing to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
