About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated LPN to join our team at UAB Medical West. Under the supervision of the RN, the Licensed Practical Nurse provides individualized, goal-directed, patient-centered nursing care. The Licensed Practical Nurse plans, implements, and evaluates patient care; administers medications; and evaluates and documents patients’ status and progress. The Licensed Practical Nurse also supervises Patient Care Techs, and other team members as assigned. ****$5,000 SIGN-ON BONUS**** Minimum Qualifications: * Active LPN license in the state of Alabama * BLS certification or must obtain within 30 days of hire date. ACLS and/or PALS certification from the American Heart Association may be required depending on the nursing unit. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously * Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions Preferred Qualifications: * Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical setting * Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) Responsibilities: * Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians * Monitor and record patient vital signs and medical history * Assist physicians and other healthcare professionals with procedures and surgeries * Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families * Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records Skills: As an LPN, you will utilize your strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide compassionate care to patients and their families. You will also use your attention to detail and ability to follow instructions to accurately administer medications and treatments. Your ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously will be essential in providing efficient and effective care. Additionally, your experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and other medical technologies will be beneficial in maintaining accurate patient records and providing quality care.
