Responsibilities Provides direction and supervision of unlicensed assistive personnel (i.e. Patient Care Technician), demonstrates clinical judgment appropriate for Iowa’s LPN scope of practice, uses problem solving techniques and time-management principles, and delegates appropriately. Inventories, replenishes stock and utilizes medical supplies in a cost-effective manner. Alerts manager when supplies are needed to be replenished with enough time to obtain additional supplies before current resources are exhausted. Cleans, sterilizes and maintains all necessary medical equipment and instruments. Advises and instructs patients on a variety of health care issues. Complies with all policies and procedures, and guides team members with compliance. Maintains a safe and clean environm Compiles with all safety goals, infection prevention and risk management policies and procedures. Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required License(s)/Certification(s): Current license in good standing to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Iowa required Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English. Multicultural sensitivity. Microsoft Office – basic computer skills. Customer/patient focused.
