Duties and Responsibilities: Emergency Response Leadership * Develop and maintain AML’s Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and ensure alignment with ISO 45001. * Lead emergency drills (fire, medical, rescue, hazmat) in collaboration with all site teams. * Coordinate the activities of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) across shifts and departments. 2.Fire Safety and Prevention * Conduct routine inspections and audits of fire systems and infrastructure (hydrants, extinguishers, alarms, suppression systems). * Ensure proper maintenance schedules for fire trucks, breathing apparatus, and rescue tools. * Train personnel on fire extinguisher use, evacuation procedures, and emergency communication protocols. 3.Incident Response and Investigation * Serve as an incident commander during fire or emergency situations. * Lead post-incident reviews and root cause analysis for fire and emergency events. * Report incident findings to senior leadership and drive implementation of corrective actions. 4.Compliance and Regulatory Engagement * Ensure compliance with Liberian Fire Code, international safety standards, and AML internal requirements. * Represent AML during inspections by the Fire Service or relevant authorities. * Maintain certifications for emergency responders and fire team members. 5.Training and Development * Deliver induction and refresher training to all staff on fire safety and emergency response. * Mentor and upskill national staff to build internal emergency response capacity. * Conduct regular tabletop exercises and simulations with operations, plant, and housing teams. 6.Documentation and Reporting * Maintain Emergency Drill Reports, Fire Inspection Logs, Equipment Readiness Checklists, and Incident Reports. * Submit weekly readiness updates and quarterly compliance reviews. * Ensure timely communication of emergency alerts and status updates to the Crisis Management Team. This is what we believe it takes to be the steel company of the future.  ArcelorMittal Liberia (AML) is operating inside Liberia since 2006, where we are employing approximately 1600 employees and about 1000 contractors mainly in the area of security as well as in transactional manual work like Bush cutting keeping the railway and our concession area free of natural overgrowth, as well as putting tarpaulins on the railcars etc. In Liberia we are running operations, spread over three locations, our harbour, and our Main offices in Buchanan, and the Nimba region the mines, existing of multiple mining locations at Tokadeh, Gangar and Yuelliton and a Crushing plant and rail loading facility, serviced by our own accommodation settlement in Yekepa. These locations are all connected with a 260 km Railroad, operated, and managed by AML, as per the MDA between ArcelorMittal and the government of Liberia. Currently 5 mtpa iron ore (DSO -Direct Shipping Ore) are produced, which will be phased out in the next few years and replaced with Iron Ore Concentrate. The Phase 2 project aims to increase export of Iron Ore to 15 mtpa (concentrate). This was restarted end 2020 after it was put on hold in 2014 due to Ebola outbreak in. Significant civil construction work was already well advanced when the project was put on hold. Phase 2 of the project consist of an iron ore concentrator at the mine, rehabilitation and upgrade of Rail line, and a new iron ore bulk handling terminal in the port.
