Pay: $35.00–$55.00 per session (one class per day)

JOB SUMMARY:

LSA is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Afterschool Music Instructor who can lead our music program for children aged 3.5 to 12 (JK – Grade 8). The ideal candidate has a strong background in music, enjoys working with kids, and can create engaging and structured learning experiences.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Piano playing ability is required
  • Experience with percussion instruments (preferred)
  • Experience teaching music (preferred)
  • Experience working with children aged 3.5–12
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Valid Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset

Responsibilities
  • Lead, supervise, and ensure the safety of all participants
  • Prepare and deliver music lessons using a variety of teaching techniques (discussion, demonstration, guided discovery)
  • Build strong relationships with school administrators and staff
  • Track and evaluate student progress and provide feedback
  • Motivate and inspire students to develop their musical abilities
  • Attend staff meetings and required training sessions
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
