We are seeking a highly skilled Life Safety Systems (LSS) Lead or Senior Engineer who either has or would like to gain experience in the Semiconductor industry to join our team in Dublin. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of life safety systems for our clients in the Semiconductor industry.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • 8+ Years’ experience in a relevant Engineering discipline such as Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls, or Life Safety Systems.
  • Semiconductor and/or cleanroom design experience preferable, large scale industrial, skill set advantageous
  • General knowledge of electrical system design applicable codes and sign off.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite (Excel).
  • Engineering/design experience in LSS/I&C systems
  • Excellent English level - written and spoken.
  • Ability to interact with other engineering disciplines, clients, and vendors at all levels.
  • Experience of Fire/Smoke Detection, LLD, TAS, and HPM advantageous. Excellent knowledge of IO/PLC/RIO associated with same.
  • Review LSS design specifications, submittals and drawings from third parties, for compliance
  • Familiar with LSS BCAR review and approval.
  • Familiar with ATEX requirements

Responsibilities

Responsibilities shall include but not limited to:

  • Be a Subject-Matter-Expert (SME) for the ATG group, leading and controlling the design for Life Safety and Security systems;
  • Execute site master planning, concept designs and preliminary engineering phases with other team members as the Advance Technology Group (ATG).
  • Prepares engineering studies and schematic design for new systems and analyse operation of existing systems.
  • Keep on top of technology and industry developments;
  • Assist in the development of group’s systems, procedures, standards and knowledge management;
  • Support Business Development through client engagement at senior levels;
  • Develop, organise and control programmes to eliminate existing or potential process/engineering problems and innovate and deliver plant improvements for our clients;
  • Independently lead plant design activities as an area/system leader and coordinate with multi-discipline designers.
  • Perform LSS design work across several engineering disciplines in 2D/3D integrated design systems.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments and vendor bid evaluations.
  • Assist in the generation of proposals, scopes, schedules and budgets for projects.
  • Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Design and construction support of Fire & Gas Detection and Alarm Systems
  • Knowledge of Electrical Building Services & Building Control (Amendment) Regulations (BCAR)
  • Good understanding of EU and US LSS standards including NFPA and NEC
  • Provide technical backup to the operations design teams in resolving specific complex process/plant problems.
