[What the role is] DIRECTOR, LEGAL [What you will be working on] An excellent career opportunity for lawyers seeking a management position in the public sector or for current in-house senior legal counsels seeking new challenges. You will assist the General Counsel to manage and lead a team of lawyers working on delivering timely and practical solutions for emerging and dynamic land transport issues. You will work closely with policy and operations divisions as well as construction project teams, on providing legal advice on a diverse spectrum of land transport and infrastructure matters, such as legislation, licensing, prosecution, contracts (local and overseas), claims (statutory, contractual and common law). As Director, you will work closely with the General Counsel to be the effective bridge between staff officers and senior management. You will lead a team of lawyers that provide legal services including those relating to : a diverse spectrum of land transport matters including polices on road and path usage, as well as passenger vehicle technology and services; significant public transport infrastructure projects under LTA, particularly in respect of construction and maintenance; advising LTA on dispute related matters (including, but not limited to, commercial disputes in areas such as contracts, IT infrastructure, construction, insolvency, and tort law). Examples of the work you will be involved in include:- Advisory and project management responsibility across a broad range of legal subjects; Provide legal advice that is accurate, effective and practical on a wide range of policies; Provide quick and effective responses to queries by senior management relating to matters under the division’s purview; Participation in other projects as required.
