[What the role is] PROJECT MANAGER, FARE SYSTEM-BUS & SYSTEMS • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology / Engineering / Computer Science or a relevant discipline. • A profession certificate in project management such as CITPM or PMP will be an advantage. • Experience with system implementation projects with preferably at least 10 years in related work • Good domain knowledge of revenue collection systems or e-payment systems • Self-initiated, proactive, good communication and interpersonal skills. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Good written and verbal communication skills. • Resourceful and self-motivated team player with a positive work attitude. • Demonstrate ability to manage a team of project staffs [What you will be working on] We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Project Manager to lead key initiatives related to the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system across bus, rail, and back-office platforms. With the implementation of Account-Based Ticketing which allows commuters to pay for public transport fares using credit and debit cards, you will get to understand how the new payment modes are implemented at the bus and rail ticketing systems and have opportunities to put in place requirements to fulfil more and evolving user needs. The ideal candidate will have strong technical awareness, proven project management capabilities, and experience in system implementation or migration projects. This role involves working closely with internal development and test teams, vendors, and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions within scope, schedule, and budget. You will have to manage contractors and contracts on the asset replacement/renewal and conduct proper risk assessment and also the development schedule of in-house developed application. [What we are looking for: Key Responsibilities] Project Management & Delivery Lead the development, enhancement, and implementation of AFC systems including Account-Based Ticketing (ABT), bus ticketing, and back-office platforms. Manage project scope, schedules, risks, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful and timely completion. Coordinate and facilitate project meetings, technical reviews, and design discussions with internal teams and contractors. Monitor project performance and implement mitigation strategies for risks or issues. Prepare and communicate accurate project progress reports for management and steering committees. Conduct proper risk assessments and oversee asset replacement or renewal activities. Ensure all project deliverables meet established quality standards, compliance requirements, and evolving user needs. Drive continuous improvement through post-project evaluations and adoption of lessons learned. Stakeholder & Team Coordination Manage and collaborate with in-house development teams, external vendors, contractors, public transport operators. Oversee contract and vendor performance to ensure alignment with project objectives. Work closely with Finance on project budgeting and expenditure tracking. Foster strong working relationships through clear communication and effective stakeholder engagement. [What we are looking for] Background knowledge in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Project Management, or a related discipline. At least 8 years of relevant experience in system implementation, technology projects, AFC-related work or cloud migration projects (experience of 10+ years is advantageous). Professional project management certifications such as PMP or CITPM are advantageous. Good domain knowledge of AFC systems, revenue collection systems or e-payment systems. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organisational, and decision-making skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and adapt to changing requirements.
