Reporting to the Regional Director of Clinical Operations, the LTC Student Coordinator is responsible for the onboarding, orientation and management of student placements in compliance with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Homes Act and Jarlette Health Services Regulations and LTC home-specific policies. To facilitate and manage student placements, the LTC Student Coordinator will act as the liaison between their assigned LTC homes and educational institutions.Building and nurturing relationships,together with a passion for making a difference in students’ lives are key drivers of success in this role.
THE FOLLOWING TRAITS AND QUALIFICATIONS ARE REQUIRED:
Preference will be given to candidates who hold a post-secondary diploma or degree in educational administration, career services, or human resources.
At least one year of current related experience in project coordination or management
Experience engaging with organizational partners
Demonstrated interest in ongoing education
Demonstrated leadership and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Knowledge of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Homes Act and Regulations
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to be creative and resourceful
Knowledge of electronic documentation and/or scheduling software
Previous use of computer software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office)
Must hold a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel to multiple locations within a specified region
