Title: Intern, Electrical Engineering, Summer 2026 Location: Newark, CA As an intern, you must possess a strong understanding of electrical engineering and software validation fundamentals. Please note this is a pipeline req, by applying to this role, you are interested in at least one of the following teams: Vehicle Software Validation ECU Manufacturing Engineer Audio Algorithm Sign Processing Engineer Role/Responsibilities: Own one or more technical projects related to controls software engineering from idea to completion Apply concepts from coursework to drive creative solutions to complex problems Design and develop advanced audio signal processing algorithms for applications that include acoustic echo reduction, noise reduction, sound enhancement, and spatial audio Develop software to test hardware and supporting tools for new programs on our ECUs Setup data collection interfaces for our new testers and test platform Learn engineering tools and processes like FMEAs and Vector tools Create test cases Create automated tools, dashboards and alerts based on tester data using SystemLink for features new to next release Develop, test, and debug audio signal processing libraries and frameworks Perform algorithm comparative analysis, benchmarking, and optimization to meet performance and quality targets Potential to work on our Air and Gravity models for software features testing Ability to work in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment Ask questions, absorb information, and develop technical skills to make the most of this opportunity - we’re here to help you as much as you’re here to help us! Preferred Qualifications: Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest to work on hardware and software interfacing projects Eager to spend time understanding the architecture of software Working software knowledge of Python, C++, C Sharp Experience using LabVIEW with NI TestStand is a plus Ability to develop and write testing scripts and database management Experience using SQL Background in digital signal processing theory through coursework Familiarity with the application of digital signal processing on audio signals Demonstrated competency in C++ programming and performance optimization Ability to apply book knowledge to real-world scenarios Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Education: Field(s) of study: Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related fields Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree program at an accredited university Proof of enrollment in current or into next program (MS, PhD) Program Information: Timing: May- August, or June-September pending class schedules. Duration of Internship: Our internship program is 12 weeks; the end date is flexible based on individual needs. Work Location & Environment: This position will be in Newark, CA, and is fully in-person. You must be prepared to start onsite for your first day of employment. The working environment will be a mix of lab & office work. Compensation: Student compensation is based on location and current degree level, non-negotiable ranging from $50 to $70 (subject to changes). Relocation: May be provided on a case-to-case basis. Housing/Transportation: You must provide your own living arrangements and transportation in the local area. Background Check: All offers of employment are contingent on clearing a background check.
