We’re building better structures, teams and communities Position summary The Lumber Estimator will provide superior customer service through proactive leadership and communication; driving efforts to increase market share while optimizing the utilization of assets and cultivate as many opportunities for greater profits. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Perform timely and accurate blueprint take-offs using customer supplied blueprints. * Create accurate bids and materials price lists for sales staff in a timely manner. * Forecasting and scheduling, ensuring projects and tasks are delivered on time. * Follow established safety procedures for all assignments. * Problem solving, strategic planning with the ability to implement solutions. * Perform any other duties, responsibilities or tasks as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: * Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of blueprints (architectural, structural and mechanical). * Expertise in the rough framing and construction process. * Knowledge of the building codes, engineering and structural standards. * Knowledge of computer software i.e. MS Office, BisTrack, PlanSwift.

Responsibilities

The Lumber Estimator is responsible for performing accurate blueprint take-offs and creating material price lists for sales staff. They also handle project forecasting, scheduling, and strategic planning to optimize profits and market share.
