JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Yard Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our yard and warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient workflow, maintain safety standards, and manage a team of warehouse staff. This role requires strong leadership skills and a solid understanding of warehouse distribution processes.

SKILLS

  • Proven experience in warehouse distribution with a strong understanding of logistics.
  • Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
  • Proficiency in operating order pickers, cranes, forklifts, and other heavy equipment.
  • Familiarity with shipping & receiving processes and documentation.
  • Previous experience in warehouse management or supervisory roles is preferred.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in order picking tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily yard operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Coordinate the loading and unloading of materials using forklifts, clamp trucks, and cranes.
  • Manage inventory control through effective use of a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Oversee order picking processes to ensure timely and accurate shipment of products.
  • Conduct regular inspections of heavy equipment to ensure proper functioning and maintenance.
  • Train and mentor staff on best practices in shipping & receiving, heavy lifting, and equipment operation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
