Responsibilities

  • Prepare all meals in accordance with all health regulations, and ensure food is properly cooked
  • Responsible for removal of food and collection of plates and utensils at each scheduled meal
  • Wash and sanitize all dishes, utensils and put dishes away for all scheduled meals
  • Compile weekly inventories of food in preparation for the upcoming week
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and storage area; take out garbage as required
  • Responsible for following the menu, provide food substitutions for children with sensitivities or

dietary restrictions

  • Responsible for posting the menus, and substitutes if made during the day
  • Responsible for ensuring all Individual Anaphylaxis Plans (IAP) allergies and food restriction are

posted in the kitchen, are up to date and accurate. All IAPs must be understood and strictly adhered to

  • Maintain health and safety records
  • Responsible for performing and recording water flushing
  • Receive all food and cleaning deliveries, ensure they are accurate in comparison to purchase orders
  • Perform and record all water flushing in the water flushing log
  • Follow all cleaning schedules as provided by Lullaboo
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels with children, coworkers, and parents
  • Highly organized, with a strong attention to detail

  • Strong understanding of health, food and nutrition

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Certificate in Culinary Arts or Food Management
  • Food Handler’s Certificate
  • Health and Safety Certificate
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal reference check (within the last six months)
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs
