An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic nurse with a passion for cancer to join our lung cancer CNS team
The successful candidate will act as a specialist resource to facilitate and co-ordinate the holistic care of patients with lung cancer in the Trust and to provide a high standard service.
The Band 6 role is a key supporting function to the wider team to enable the optimal care of our patients and to the success of our Trust. The delivery of high quality, effective and compassionate care is the most important role within the organisation.
To ensure the lung cancer patient journey is patient centred, evidence based with excellent communication between all those involved.
Where necessary, or when requested, to act as the patient advocate.
To provide individualised, written and verbal, support & advice around referral to lung cancer clinic, and pre-diagnosis investigations.
To provide individualised, written and verbal, support and information to patients, their families and carers before, and following, a diagnosis of lung cancer or mesothelioma including the utilisation of an Holistic Needs Assessment.
To support patients during consideration of treatment options.
To track the patient’s progress along the cancer journey across all areas of healthcare, acting as a liaison between healthcare professionals.
