Description Brodson Luxury Homes is a boutique construction company with over 30 years of experience in general contracting and construction management in the high-end residential arena. As Estimator at Brodson, you will join a dynamic team environment collaborating on exceptional residential projects in Miami. Our residential projects are large in scale and of the highest quality in the industry. Brodson Construction is looking for an Estimator with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in ground up residential construction. We’re searching for an individual with a great attitude and robust skillset to join our team of like-minded professionals. This person will be responsible for preparing cost estimates for projects based on construction plans, job specifications, and industry knowledge. Construction Estimators analyze plans and specifications to generate detailed scopes of work for translating into estimates. As an Estimator, you will work closely with the Director of Operations and Project Executive to produce timely, accurate proposals. Salary is commensurate with job experience. Essential Duties: Analyze drawings and specifications, material use and selections, the scope of work, and perform quantity take-offs. Create job-specific subcontractor and vendor lists, distribute plans and scopes sheets to obtain competitive pricing, communicate with subcontractors and vendors to obtain complete bids within required timeframes. Combine all material, production, shipping, and other associated costs to calculate a final proposed bid price for the customer. Communicate thoroughly with customers regarding RFI’s and clarifications. Upon bid acceptance, attend required handoff meetings to ensure efficient and complete transfer of information. Review offers and quotes by vendors according to requirements to determine the most beneficial alternative. Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers etc.) Other responsibilities and duties may be assigned. Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements Prepare work to be estimated by gather proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information Present prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends Perform conceptual, schematic, and design development budgets Review plans for consistency and accuracy Manage all levels of take-offs while applying unit prices Collaborate with others on the preconstruction team to successfully bid jobs Develop into a leader within the estimating team Client/Architect Interaction This position requires typing, answering phones, sitting for extended periods of time, lifting items up to 10 lbs.
