Description

About the role…:
Are you eager to break into the world of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)?
We’re currently seeking an M&A Analyst to join our M&A Director, Gav Jones who is building his team and provides an amazing opportunity for someone wanting to start out their M&A career journey.
You can be based near one of our office hubs in Manchester, Derby, Birmingham, Reading, London or even further afield as long as you’re happy to travel to our Derby office 1-2 days per week.

ABOUT THE DAY TO DAY…

As an M&A Analyst, you’ll work alongside the M&A team, gaining exposure to all aspects of the M&A lifecycle.

You will:

  • Assist with the origination of M&A transactions
  • Assess early-stage acquisition opportunities and prepare detailed summaries for the management team
  • Analyse due diligence reports to inform decision-making
  • Support the M&A Director in project managing and helping to execute transactions
  • Collaborate closely with the integration team to ensure smooth post-acquisition transitions

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to transition into M&A and learn from a highly experienced team in a fast-growing, acquisitive business.
About you…:
At Cooper Parry, we’re in it together. All we ask of our people is that they play all in. You’ll continuously strive to keep learning – whether you’re a trainee or a Partner – and you’ll be brave, stepping out of your comfort zone to tackle new challenges. Above all, be nice. A simple notion, but an irreplaceable part of what makes CP, CP.

In addition to those core values, as an M&A Analyst you have;

  • A strong accountancy background
  • No previous M&A experience required but we’re looking for someone eager to learn and grow in this field
  • Comfortable working with Excel
  • An analytical mindset
  • Eager to learn and develop

About us…:
We’ve been dubbed ‘the rebels of accountancy’. So, we don’t give run-of-the-mill advice.
We’re straight-talking. Never afraid to share our opinions. We put people and relationships before products and services, and deliver a streamlined, client-focused service – free from unnecessary red tape.
That’s how we’ve become the fastest-growing accountancy firm in the UK, and we’ve never been the type to rest on our laurels.
Over the last couple of years alone, we’ve achieved some fantastic feats:
-

Best Companies’ No.1 Accountancy Firm & No.30 Best Large Company to Work For in the UK

  • Became B Corp Certified in 2023 and we’re still the UK’s largest accountancy B Corp, measuring and improving our impact beyond business for a brighter tomorrow
  • Achieved 6 awards at the Inspiring Workplace Awards in 2024, against all businesses of all sizes in the UK and Ireland. We were recognised as “Best-in-class” for Inspiring Culture and Purpose, Wellbeing, Employee Voice and Employee Experience
