The Role As an M&A Discovery & Execution Consultant (Generalist), you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of integration and separation programmes across the deal lifecycle. You will work across business and technology domains to structure problems, analyse data, and support execution, ensuring that deal objectives are translated into actionable plans and delivered effectively. You will be involved in discovery, planning, and execution activities, including due diligence support, Day 1 readiness preparation, and post-close programme delivery. Acting as a flexible, cross-functional contributor, you will work closely with programme leads, workstream owners, and client stakeholders to drive progress, manage dependencies, and resolve issues. This role is ideal for a well-rounded consultant who can operate across multiple domains—combining analytical capability, structured thinking, and hands-on delivery support. You will be expected to bring clarity to ambiguous situations, build high-quality outputs, and contribute to the overall success of complex M&A programmes. Discovery & Due Diligence Support Support technology and operational due diligence activities, including data gathering, analysis, and synthesis of findings Assist in identifying key risks, dependencies, and value drivers across business and technology domains Develop structured outputs such as assessment reports, findings packs, and executive summaries Support the development of Day 1 readiness plans and integration hypotheses Integration & Separation Execution Support delivery of integration and separation activities across multiple workstreams Track progress against plans, ensuring milestones, risks, and dependencies are clearly understood and managed Contribute to Day 1 readiness, Day 100 planning, and post-close stabilisation activities Assist in resolving issues and supporting delivery teams to maintain programme momentum Programme Management & IMO Support Support the Integration Management Office (IMO) in programme governance and coordination Maintain and manage RAID logs, project plans, and status reporting Prepare high-quality status updates, dashboards, and steering committee materials Ensure alignment across workstreams by tracking dependencies and facilitating communication Analysis & Problem Solving Conduct structured analysis across areas such as: Operating models Business processes Technology landscapes Translate data into clear insights and actionable recommendations Support development of business cases, integration plans, and execution roadmaps Stakeholder Support & Coordination Work with client stakeholders and internal teams to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and align on outputs Support workshops, meetings, and working sessions across functions Clearly communicate progress, risks, and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences Practice Development & Contribution Contribute to development of M&A methodologies, templates, and accelerators Support business development through research, proposal inputs, and solution shaping Continuously build knowledge of M&A trends, tools, and approaches Requirements Experience & Expertise Typically 5–10 years’ experience in one or more of: Management consulting M&A integration or separation Large-scale transformation programmes Exposure to deal environments, due diligence, or integration delivery is desirable Experience working across business and/or technology workstreams Strong analytical capability with the ability to structure problems and synthesise findings Experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments Business fluency in German and English Core Consulting Competencies Excellent problem-solving and structured thinking capabilities Strong analytical and data interpretation skills Ability to develop clear, high-quality deliverables and presentations Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively Clear and confident communication (written and verbal) Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn Personal Attributes Curious and inquisitive mindset with a willingness to challenge assumptions Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy Collaborative team player with a positive and flexible approach Comfortable working in ambiguous and evolving environments Driven, reliable, and focused on delivering outcomes The Team Our M&A practice is at the forefront of this ambition.
