JOB SUMMARY:

The M&E Site Engineer will assist the Section Head/Construction Foreman in coordinating and managing Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) works for the Bukit Badong Water Treatment Plant. This role requires planning, monitoring, and executing assigned tasks to ensure the project’s M&E systems are completed on time, within budget, and according to quality and safety standards. The incumbent will also be responsible for overseeing M&E installations, ensuring compliance with design specifications, and resolving technical issues.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 – 4 years of relevant experience in M&E works, preferably in water treatment plant projects or similar construction environments.
  • Proficiency in M&E management tools and software.
  • Strong understanding of M&E design principles and construction methodologies.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and safety standards for M&E works.
  • Hands-on experience in M&E installation, testing, and commissioning processes.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate Site Activities: Collaborate with the Section Head/Foreman to ensure smooth workflow of M&E works.
  • Plan M&E Work and Resources: Develop and implement work programs to ensure timely progress, efficient resource allocation, and proper coordination between mechanical and electrical installations.
  • Address Technical Issues: Apply engineering concepts to solve onsite M&E-related technical problems during construction.
  • Monitor M&E Work: Ensure all M&E installations meet design specifications, quality, and safety standards.
  • Control Material Usage: Manage M&E materials efficiently to minimize wastage and ensure cost control within budget.
  • Testing and Commissioning: Supervise and coordinate the testing and commissioning of M&E systems to ensure proper functioning before project handover.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with supervisors, surveyors, lab personnel, foremen, subcontractors, and other departments to achieve seamless integration of M&E systems with the rest of the construction works.
  • Conduct Inspections: Perform regular site inspections to monitor M&E installation quality, identify potential issues, and provide solutions.
  • Provide Updates: Report regularly to immediate superiors on project progress and any M&E-related issues.
  • Ensure Safety Compliance: Adhere to environmental, health, and safety regulations, ensuring safe work practices in all M&E activities.
