Description R3 is seeking an experienced M365 Platform Lead to oversee and support a dedicated Microsoft 365 environment. This role serves as the senior subject matter expert for the Microsoft 365 platform, providing strategic direction, operational oversight, and technical leadership across cloud collaboration and productivity services. The M365 Platform Lead will translate organizational objectives into secure, scalable, and well-governed Microsoft 365 solutions while ensuring platform stability, performance, and continuous modernization. This position requires a strong blend of architecture expertise, operational ownership, and leadership capability within a structured enterprise environment. Responsibilities Serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert for the Microsoft 365 platform Support and optimize M365 cloud services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and the Power Platform Translate business goals and operational drivers into secure, scalable, and well-architected M365 solutions Provide architectural guidance and best practices for M365 design, configuration, governance, and lifecycle management Maintain the operational health of the M365 environment including security, availability, performance, interoperability, and reliability Oversee identity integration, access controls, conditional access policies, and data protection strategies Ensure alignment with applicable security frameworks and compliance requirements Lead platform upgrades, feature rollouts, tenant configurations, and service enhancements Stay current on Microsoft 365 roadmap changes, new releases, and emerging capabilities, advising leadership on impact and opportunity Provide escalation support for complex M365-related incidents and service disruptions Develop and maintain documentation, governance standards, and operational procedures Mentor and guide engineers and administrators supporting the M365 ecosystem Participate in strategic planning discussions and long-term platform modernization initiatives Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field 10–15 years of progressive technical experience in enterprise IT environments Significant hands-on experience supporting Microsoft 365 cloud services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Power Platform Demonstrated experience leading or managing technical teams Strong understanding of enterprise cloud architecture, identity management, and security best practices U.S. Citizenship required Preferred Qualifications Active or previous DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance DOE L or Q clearance Experience operating within highly regulated or compliance-driven environments Experience working within a managed services delivery model Certifications Desired Microsoft 365 Certified Enterprise Administrator Expert Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert Microsoft Security certifications Relevant cloud, security, or compliance certifications Key Competencies Deep Microsoft 365 platform expertise Strong architectural and systems thinking capability Ability to balance strategic planning with operational ownership Effective leadership and mentorship skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong documentation and governance discipline Proactive, forward-thinking mindset focused on modernization and continuous improvement Why join our winning team? The salary range is : $130k-160k The base range for this position is an estimate and may vary depending on relevant factors, including but not limited to education, experience, certifications, and skillset, as well as internal equity and business considerations.
