Role Summary: As a M365 Copilot Engineer, you will serve as the strategic and technical authority to lead the technical implementation, governance, and ongoing operations of Microsoft 365 Sharepoint, Copilot and AI-powered productivity across the organization. This role will also own Copilot Studio, enabling the creation, governance, and lifecycle management of custom copilots, plugins, and automations that extend Microsoft 365. You will also oversee the design, governance, automation, and optimization of the M365 SharePoint platform, ensuring high performance, secure collaboration, and alignment with corporate standards. You will also drive adoption of tools like Planner, Forms, and Viva Engage, with involvement in Power Platform and Copilot Studio for modernization initiatives. You will partner with Security, Collaboration, Data, Privacy, and End User Computing teams to ensure Copilot is secure, reliable, and delivering measurable value across the business Job Responsibility: Copilot Platform Ownership & Readiness • Lead tenant readiness for Microsoft 365 Copilot, including data grounding, indexing, licensing, network readiness, and Graph permissions. • Configure tenant-level Copilot controls, app policies, feature flags, and staged rollouts. • Ensure high-quality grounding by optimizing SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Exchange information architecture. Copilot Studio (Custom Copilots & Extensions) • Serve as the technical owner of Copilot Studio, managing policies, environments, connectors, data access rules, and lifecycle controls. • Build, maintain, and optimize custom copilots, automations, system prompts, and knowledge sources for business functions. • Develop and govern custom Plugins, Graph Connectors, and enterprise extensions. • Implement guardrails for prompt behavior, content access, responsible AI usage, and controlled deployment of custom copilots. • Collaborate with business teams to design copilots that integrate with line of business systems (ServiceNow, Workday, Salesforce, Jira, Confluence, etc.). • Maintain versioning, documentation, and safe deployment workflows for custom copilots. Security, Compliance & Governance • Implement governance frameworks for Copilot and Copilot Studio: access control, responsible AI, confidentiality management, and safe content policies. • Partner with Security, Privacy, and Compliance to enforce sensitivity labels, DLP, Conditional Access, and identity governance across all Copilot surfaces. • Govern app consent, plugin approval processes, and data access scopes for custom copilots and connectors. Integrations & Extensibility • Configure first-party and third-party Copilot plugins and build secure custom integrations. • Manage enterprise-grade Graph Connectors to surface external business data in Copilot experiences. • Develop automation workflows using Power Platform, Copilot Studio actions, and APIs. Monitoring, Telemetry & Operations • Implement telemetry dashboards for usage, adoption, prompt quality, grounding issues, plugin failures, and custom copilot performance. • Deliver monthly service reports with insights, trends, and optimization recommendations. • Provide Tier 3 support for Copilot and Copilot Studio issues. Adoption & Change Management • Partner with Enablement teams to deliver Copilot pilots, user training, and role-based scenarios. • Create prompting best practices, AI enablement materials, and usage guidelines. • Drive continuous improvement through user feedback loops. Job Qualification: Required • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline. • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 engineering, modern workplace, or collaboration engineering roles. • Deep knowledge of: o SharePoint Admin Center o Microsoft 365 Copilot o Copilot Studio (custom copilots, data sources, plugins, environments) o Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access, Graph permissions o SharePoint/OneDrive/Teams administration o Microsoft Information Protection (Labels, DLP, retention) o SharePoint Advanced Management (SAM) o Site architecture, permissions, and governance • Strong experience with PowerShell and PnP.PowerShell. • Operational expertise across monitoring, compliance, storage, and collaboration workflows. • Experience with Planner, Forms, Viva Engage, and related M365 tools. • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Good to Have • Experience with: o Power Platform Admin Center o Power Automate / Power Apps o Copilot Studio (agents) • Familiarity with Microsoft Graph API and REST APIs. • Microsoft Certifications (MS-900, MS-700, SC-900, PL-200, etc.).
