If you said yes, you’re just what we need in a Medical Assistant.WHAT YOU WILL DO - Provide direct patient care, which may include rooming patients, taking vitals, obtaining a comprehensive medical history, administering vaccines, injections, and medications, phlebotomy, point of care testing and medication reconciliation. - Provide customer service to internal and external customers via phone, electronic and in person. - Monitor all clinical staff in-baskets and patient requests to deliver timely and accurate services. - Assist with clinical scheduling and provide guidance to team members for assignments and priorities including training. - Oversee and update the POCT, patient care processes, protocols, and log books; collaborate with the Clinical Educator for clinic process improvement plans. - Review and follow through on prior authorizations, referrals, and medication refills. - Enter patient information into the electronic medical records system and use systems to produce and conduct referrals, prior authorizations, medication research, and other related duties. - Completes all quality audit measures. WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED - Prior experience as a Medical Assistant. - Effectively communicate verbally and in writing. - Develop effective relationships with patients, hospital departments, and other external parties. - Knowledge of patient handling techniques. - Understanding of terminology used in diagnosis and classification of illnesses, injuries, and disabilities. - Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, generic and trade names, and ICD coding. - Customer service skills. - Hematology/blood collection technology, techniques, and procedures. Qualifications - Required High School Diploma/GED - Required Certificate - 2 years Medical Assisting Required - 4 years Medical Assisting Preferred - Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association - Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - . - National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) - . - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - . - Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - .
