JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Level 3 Mac Desktop Support Engineer with strong Jamf Pro skills who has hands-on experience from start to finish from initiation of project to builds and deployment.
Client Company: Leading Scientific Organization
Long term Contract position (6 months contracts with extensions)
Hybrid role: This resource will be sitting in Washington DC - typically 2 days/week onsite (an extra day may be required when upgrades are going on), rest of the days remote

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Level 3 Mac Desktop Engineer to join our Workplace Technology team. This role is ideal for a solution-driven professional who not only supports Mac users at an advanced level but also architects and improves endpoint management systems with a focus on scalability, automation, and security. You will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for macOS, Jamf Pro, and Microsoft 365 within the enterprise environment, and play a critical role in enhancing the end-user experience through strategic IT initiatives.

  • The Workplace Technology team supports Level 1, II and II Desktop Support (both Mac and PC) for US and Global operations.
  • This position is a Level 3 Desktop engineer, mid to senior level role, and specifically looking for applicants with strong skills in Mac’s specifically Jamf MDM platforms. The Company uses ~ 150 Macs which this resource will be supporting with the immediate manager.
  • Prefer candidates with 5+ years’ experience of Mac support preferably in an Enterprise setting or at least 3+ years’ work experience in Mac Jamf MDM platform support/administration
  • The role will involve engineering and administration of Jamf Pro (Mac MDM solutions), someone who can come in and help with developing the patch cycle into Jamf, help deploy updates to applications and shift strategy on how to manage Mac platform administration.
  • Should have a good understanding of how M365 functions and have a good knowledge of how to deploy M365 and update onto the Mac equipment.
  • Should have a basic understanding of Bash scripting skills to deploy software or for implementing configuration. Have some experience with scripting to perform basic tasks in Mac OS settings for deploying MacOS applications with Bash script.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in technical support or desktop support roles.
  • Strong knowledge of computer management, networking concepts, and IT support practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Ability to troubleshoot software issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Familiarity with MDM/APNs, Apple Business Manager, DEP, and VPP.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and integration in cross-platform environments.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

· Familiarity with Zero-Touch deployment workflows.
· Experience with security tools and policies for endpoint protection
· Working knowledge of Windows 10/11, particularly in mixed OS environments, to support collaboration with Windows fleet management and cross-platform issues.

· Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 administration, including policy management, endpoint compliance, and integration with macOS.

  • Interviews: 2 rounds (all virtual) – 1st with the hiring manager with possibly a lead in the group, 2nd with Manager and team members and/or peer of the manager ( if needed)
