QUALIFICATIONS

  • Successful completion of a college diploma in Administration, Business, or an equivalent as determined by the hospital
  • 3 years recent related experience
  • Progressive administrative support to senior or executive leadership preferred
  • Progressive administrative support to senior or executive leadership preferred
  • Knowledge of Software and computer applications: MS Office, electronic document management systems
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Typing 60 words per minute
  • Knowledge of parliamentary meeting procedures (i.e. Robert’s Rules, voting on motions, need for quorum, etc.)
  • Ability to record and prepare clear and concise minutes of meetings, and to accurately summarize complex issues raised during meeting discussions, with experience in writing reports for governance bodies such as Boards
  • Write, edit, proofread, gather and present information. High degree of discretion, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team/job-share and the ability to liaise with all levels of staff across the organization in a professional and courteous manner including Council members and legal representatives
  • Responsive and pro-active
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and diplomacy
  • Ability to remain professional while attending to multiple priorities, take initiative, and use sound judgement
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and legal terminology would be an asset
  • Additional courses in medical terminology required (if not from a medical program)
  • Ability to communicate and deal effectively with senior staff.
  • Ability to work successfully with different stakeholders
  • Must have a flexible approach and work as a team player
  • Must be resilient and have a professional manner
  • Must use diplomacy, be reliable and accountable
