Job Details Job Location: Houston, TX 77041 The Machine Installer is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing mechanical equipment in accordance with company standards. This role requires technical support and rectify mechanical issues to ensure the smooth operation of production and manufacturing processes. DESCRIPTION Perform routine maintenance and repair of mechanical systems and machinery. Assist with equipment setups for new jobs and changeovers. Diagnose mechanical issues using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and technical manuals. Assist in the installation of new equipment, ensuring proper setup, calibration, and functionality. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and reports for management on equipment or job status, and maintenance performance. Ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with company safety policies and local regulations. Conduct safety audits and inspections as required. Work closely with other team members, including mechanics, electrical engineers, and production staff, to coordinate activities and address issues promptly. Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems and machinery, documenting all activities and recommending improvements. Be available for on-call emergency repairs during production hours and assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues that may impact production. COMPETENCIES Safely operate forklifts. Operate scissor lifts to move equipment and materials to elevated areas, perform maintenance tasks, or access hard-to-reach locations. Ability to read and interpret schematics drawing, and technical manuals. Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication and interpersonal skills. EXPERIENCE 2 + experience in manufacturing environment as mechanical, preferably in flexible plastic packaging. High school diploma or equivalent PHYSICAL REQUIEREMENTS Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks. WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed primarily on the manufacturing floor, which may involve exposure to loud noises, machinery, high temperatures and chemicals. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
