OVERVIEW

We’re looking for a bright and enthusiastic AI/ML Engineer with a passion for AI/ML to join our team for a 3-month full-time contract. This is an exciting opportunity to gain real-world experience by working with cutting-edge technologies and applying them to solve challenging problems within the global aviation domain to:

. A strong interest in aviation is ‘mandatory’!!! though no previous aviation experience is required . This could involve developing AI/ML models to forecast potential delays, identifying opportunities for fuel savings, and optimizing flight routes in response to dynamic conditions.
:You’ll explore how AI/ML can help the aviation industry adapt to evolving factors like airspace restrictions, weather patterns, and operational changes.
You’ll be part of a dynamic Oshawa-based aviation start-up that’s exploring innovative ways to leverage AI/ML to improve airline operations. Think of this as your “sandbox” – a chance to experiment, learn, and contribute to exciting projects while developing valuable skills.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proficiency in Python is essential; experience with R or C is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning concepts and frameworks such as TensorFlow.
  • Familiarity with natural language processing techniques is highly desirable.
  • Experience in database design and management to support data-driven projects.
  • Knowledge of big data technologies and tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis software such as SAS or VBA is an advantage.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • > Analyze and process aviation-related datasets, including real-time flight information, weather data, and other relevant sources.
    > Develop and implement machine learning models for tasks such as flight routings predictive analytics, resource optimization, and fuel savings.
    > Explore and apply relevant AI/ML techniques, including time series analysis, spatial analysis, and deep learning.
    > Investigate and evaluate the feasibility of integrating AI/ML models with emerging technologies like LangChain, RAG, and Streamlit.
    > Contribute to the development of user-friendly interfaces for AI/ML applications using tools such as Streamlit.
    > Conduct research and stay updated on the latest advancements in AI/ML and their applications within the aviation industry.
    > Collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
