MACHINE LEARNING (ML) ENGINEER - COMPUTER VISION (CV)

Cyberhawk has an opportunity for an Machine Learning (ML) Engineer with Computer Vision (CV) to join our flexible, people focussed company. We use drones and our iHawk software to keep people out of danger and reduce the carbon footprint of our energy and large capital project clients.
This can be a remote role or hybrid with some work from our dog friendly Edinburgh (Ratho) office and some work from home.

Responsibilities

We’re looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to help us automate visual inspections using computer vision. You’ll work on tools that analyse images of industrial assets, like wind turbines or power lines, to detect issues early and reduce the need for hazardous manual inspections.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build and improve machine learning models that detect defects in images.
  • Use and manage image datasets for training ML models.
  • Work closely with software engineers to deploy models in real-world applications.
  • Monitor and enhance model performance over time in production.

What We’re Looking For:

  • MSc/PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or Computer Vision (or BSc plus 2+ years of relevant experience).
  • Hands-on experience with ML tools like OpenCV, PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Solid understanding of data handling and cleaning techniques.
  • Experience in detecting objects or patterns in images.
  • Comfortable working with databases and writing clean, well-tested code.
