The mission of , whose central unit is implemented at Helmholtz Munich, is to enable the transfer of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into practice. Since its inception, the has been providing Machine Learning (ML) expertise to Health research scientists from Germany’s largest research organization, the , with great success. It is now broadening its scope to facilitate access to AI computing infrastructure and expertise for industry, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), including start-ups.
To join our growing team, we are inviting applications for the position of Machine Learning Engineer (f/m/x) for AI Applications.
We offer you the unique opportunity to use your expertise in AI development and High-Performance Computing (HPC) to answer questions of great societal importance in a vibrant international environment, with a focus on bridging the gap between academic research and industry applications. You will create AI tools for the unique datasets generated by renowned researchers, and industry partners alike. You will also play a crucial role in achieving our long-term goal of facilitating open access to AI expertise by contributing to open-source initiatives.

If you fulfil all the requirements, you may be eligible for a salary grade of up to E 13. Social benefits are based on the Collective Wage Agreement for Public-Sector Employees (TVöD). The position has an (initial) fixed term of 2 years but may be extended under certain circumstances. The position offers home office options of up to 3 days per week, therefore it cannot be offered as a fully remote position.
