Description OVERVIEW: The machine mechanic service engineer position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS: Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service. Teach mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments. Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties. Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision. Follows and ensures good manufacturing practices at all times Follows and adheres to the company’s safety program Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related field required. Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar or related field Mechanical Ability: Hydraulic system experience with pressure up to 3000 psi Variable displacement pumps troubleshooting and rebuild Directional valves Relief valves and proper setting Proper care of hydraulic oil systems (prevent contamination) Pneumatic system experience with pressures up to 100psi Solenoid valve operation Air over water intensifiers Proper care of incoming air Water system experience Cooling water control Centrifugal pump troubleshooting and rebuild Understanding cavitation and removing entrapped air Filtration systems Valve rebuild experience Use of torque wrenches Used of precision measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers Ability to read mechanical drawings and Bill of Materials Electrical Abilities: Ability to read electrical schematics and sequence diagrams Ability to use electrical test equipment Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits using drawing and physically tracing circuits Experience with 480VAC, 240VAC, 110VAC, 24 VDC and analog instrumentation/sensors signals Additional experience Familiarly with Allen Bradley PLC input/output circuits Program experience with Rockwell RS Logics and RS Links Keeping technical records and maintenance logs Experience with HMI’s and SCADA computers Discipline to follow the maintenance and operations manuals
