OVERVIEW
This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidates to work with an engineering organisation that has been established for well over 30 years and have a number of sites the UK, during their 30 years they gained themselves a reputation for excellence within a variety of industries from engineering to food, due t an increase in their orders they are now looking to recruit a machinist to develop in a CNC machining position where duties will include:
· Responsible for the operation of the waterjet machines, setting and adjusting offsets to maintain tolerances for the accurate production of profiled parts.
· Read works order instructions, selecting appropriate materials and batches to maintain quality control.
· Read drawings and relevant CNC programmes and use Fanuc based controllers to set up the water-jet machines.
· Load materials on and off the waterjet machines observing safe manual handling practices and ensuring the material meets quality standards prior to profiling.
· Ensure production schedules are met and to notify management when any issues arise which could cause disruption.
· Responsible for good housekeeping ensuring equipment and areas are tidy and follow all safety procedures during operation.
· Detect equipment faults or machine defects and report to management when necessary.
· Communicate with other members of the team including management to ensure smooth flow of work through the waterjet processes from CNC programming through to final inspection.
· Carry out daily checks of the machine equipment and immediately report any faults to management.
· Maintain the machines when necessary. Full training will be provided.
It is expected that the successful candidate will have experience of machinery operation within an engineering or manufacturing environment and:
· Forklift experience an advantage.
· Must be literate to accurately complete relevant works order documents.
· Understand basic geometric tolerances and have a sound understanding of precision measuring equipment.
· Must be physically capable as there is a large element of manual handling involved.
· Possess GCSE grade C or above in English & Maths (Or equivalent).
