2nd Shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM)
GenCorr Packaging, an affiliate of Schwarz Partners, is currently seeking Machine Operators (2nd Shift, 3pm-11:30pm) to support our Alsip, IL corrugated manufacturing facility. Specific machine experience on one or more of the following machines is required: rotary, flatbed or clamshell die cutters, laminators, and/or folder gluers. The Machine Operator is responsible for all activities associated with running specific machines, including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommendation of improvements. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • HS Diploma (or GED) or higher.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the corrugated industry as a machine operator.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Specific machine experience on one or more of the following machines: rotary, flatbed or clamshell die cutters, laminators, and/or folder gluers.
  • Knowledge of various paperboard stocks, board grade combinations, POP displays and printing processes.
  • Strong team player; Quality and Safety conscious leader.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible hours or extended hours.
  • Strong work ethic with emphasis on safety.
Responsibilities
  • The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat or cold.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.
  • Specific PPE will be required in certain areas.
  • The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
