Information about the Company: Cenveo is a leading North American manufacturer of envelopes with over 100 years of experience and approximately 30 billion envelopes manufactured annually. We are hiring immediately for 2nd & 3rd shift Machine Operators (Packers) for our manufacturing facility in Chicago, IL. Machine Packer Pay/Schedule: * Pay $17/hr + shift premiums * 2nd shift premium $1/hr and 3rd shift premium $2/hr * 2nd shift: 2pm - 10pm and 3rd shift : 10pm - 6am * Training may take place on 1st shift 6am -- 2pm * Schedule: Mon - Fri / Sat required during busy season/based on business needs. Machine Packer Responsibilities & Daily Duties: * Loads paper on to automatic hand-fed orweb envelope folding machines; pack finished product. * Inspects quality of envelopes, labels cartons, reports variances to key personnel. * Checks current production orders/schedules to determine daily production requirements. * May be required to do rework on finished product; Cleans up work area during/end of shift. * Other duties as assigned/required. Machine Packer Physical Requirements & Work Environment:- * Ability to keep up with a high-speed delivery output in a standing position for a full shift. * Mental alertness; Ability to step up/reach overhead/manually feed paper into machine. * Ability to lift up to 55 pounds; Manual dexterity required to grasp objects. * Exposure to arm/wrist fatigue; Exposure to noise, hazardous materials (inks, solvents, glue, etc.). * Must be able to work in hot or cold weather. Cenveo is an EEO Employer     Qualifications * The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or equivalent. * 6 months of relevant work experience in a production environment. * Quality inspection skills and ability to measure/read a ruler. * Basic math, verbal/written communication, computer skills.
Responsibilities
The Machine Operator loads paper onto folding machines, packs finished products, and inspects the quality of envelopes while reporting any variances. Duties also include checking production schedules, performing rework on finished goods, and maintaining a clean work area.
