Description Job Purpose The Machine Operator ensures safe, efficient, and accurate operation of equipment to meet daily output, quality, and safety standards while minimizing downtime and maintaining compliance with all company and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Safety & Compliance Follow all FDA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), company safety rules, and required PPE standards. Complete all paperwork accurately and on time. Properly use and store all chemicals according to training and SDS requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area at all times. Machine Operation Operate assigned machinery according to company standards and training. Understand machine functions to minimize downtime and ensure proper production flow. Work with maintenance to identify, communicate, and resolve mechanical issues. Perform basic troubleshooting within scope of training. Production Output Follow the production schedule to ensure timely completion of all products. Maintain efficient and consistent output on assigned lines. Meet or exceed established KPIs, including: Line efficiency Output per hour Quality standards Downtime accuracy Changeover time Record and communicate all downtime events clearly and promptly. Cleaning & Sanitation Perform all cleaning requirements during production, at changeovers, and at end-of-day according to company standards. Properly clean and maintain machinery throughout the shift. Ensure all tools, utensils, and supplies are cleaned and stored correctly. Documentation & Recordkeeping Maintain accurate and complete records, including: Weight tracking Production logs Cleaning logs Safety checklists Ensure all paperwork is legible, timely, and compliant with audit standards. Teamwork & Communication Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance, and fellow operators. Support smooth operations across the production floor as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned to support safe and efficient operations. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred. Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to learn equipment functions. Ability to read and follow written instructions, production paperwork, and safety procedures. Basic math skills for weight tracking and production counts. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized processes. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods. Ability to perform repetitive motions. Ability to safely operate around moving machinery. Work Environment Fast-paced production environment. Exposure to food ingredients, cleaning chemicals, and mechanical equipment. Requires adherence to strict safety and sanitation standards.
