Interested in working three days and being off work four days every week? Gregory Galvanizing & Metal Processing has an opening for an experienced machine operator. The schedule is 12 hours per day Fri-Sun, 5am-5pm. You'll be paid 40 hours if you work the full shift each day. The hourly wage for the machine operator is $22.66. Employees will have the opportunity to learn additional skills with on-the-job training and advance to positions with increased responsibilities and rate of pay. The Machine Operator will set up, maintain and operate machinery in a safe and responsible manner. You’ll ensure the interminable and efficient running of production. A great machine operator is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. On-the-job training is a good way to discover how to do the job better, so you should have willingness to learn and improve. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with the helper and other team members. The goal will be to ensure that production procedures will be carried out with minimal interruptions and issues in order to maximize efficiency and profits. Responsibilities * Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle * Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed) * Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines with assistance of helper * Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools * Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws * Keep records of approved and defective units or final products * Maintain activity logs Skills * Proven experience as a machine operator * Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.) * Understanding of production procedures * Adherence to and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear) * Attention to detail * Teamwork and communication skills * Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 75 pounds The Helper will assist in producing quality parts by following instructions issued by the Machine Operator, adhering to safety regulations, being proactive in assisting the production process, and having a positive attitude. The helper will be responsible for removing and stacking material as it is produced.
