Job Description Machine Operator II India Kancheepuram The TPP (Turret Punch Press) Operator operates, maintains, and monitors the turret punching machine to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality production. This role requires strong technical skills, adherence to process quality standards, and commitment to continuous improvement through Kaizen and 5S practices You will report to Manager, Engineering and follow a Hybrid working schedule in Bangalore Your Responsibilities: Machine Operation & Maintenance Manage complete operation of the TPP (Turret Punch Press) machine, ensuring smooth performance and zero downtime. Perform machine lubrication as per maintenance standards to maintain equipment health. Follow daily machine maintenance checklists and document activities. Ensure proper tool and die loading into the turret according to approved procedures. Maintain self‑care of tools including cleaning, minor adjustments, and reporting wear/damage. Support machine setup activities with guidance from the engineer/programmer. 2. Production Quality & Inspection Conduct First Piece Inspection (FPI), in‑process / between-piece inspection, and Last Piece Inspection (LPI) to verify compliance with specifications. Adhere strictly to SOPs and work instructions to ensure consistent product quality. Report daily rejection data and support corrective actions. 3. Programming and Process Execution Input and execute programs with correct G‑Codes and M‑Codes during operations. Coordinate with the TPP programmer to understand program details, tool requirements, die clearances, and tool change needs. Develop basic programming capabilities over time to support continuous improvement. Standardize and freeze tool setup procedures in coordination with engineers/programmers. 4. Workplace Management & 5S Maintain 5S standards at the workstation, with strong focus on 1S (Sort) and 2S (Set in Order). Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety across all TPP work areas. 5. Tools & Inventory Management Maintain the complete list of tools and ensure tools are updated daily after use. Track and record tool usage, wear status, and initiate requests for replacements if needed. 6. Material Handling & Internal Customer Support Manage feeding of materials into the machine and ensure continuous material availability. Support internal customers (e.g., next process departments) by delivering accurate output. 7. Safety & Compliance Use PPE as per the PPE Matrix and ensure compliance with all safety requirements. Report unsafe conditions, hazards, or near‑miss incidents immediately to the supervisor. Follow all machine handling guidelines for Amada punching systems or any assigned equipment. 8. Documentation & Reporting Update daily production checklists, tool usage logs, and maintenance records. Maintain accountability for scrap generation and document reasons with transparency. 9. Continuous Improvement & Teamwork Participate in new part development activities. Train co‑associates on machine operation, safety, and best practices. Contribute to Kaizen initiatives to improve productivity, safety, and process quality. Be an effective team player with. 10. Flexibility & Skill Growth Be willing to work in any production line or department as required, based on the skill matrix and business needs. Continuously upgrade skills through training, mentoring, and hands‑on practice. The Essentials - You Will Have Diploma or any Degree 4-6 Years of technical experience Having 5-7 Years Experience in Turret punching machines (AMADA & PRIMA) The Preferred - You Might Also Have: Good skills in written communications. Requires good analytical and troubleshooting skills. Responsibilities
The operator is responsible for managing the complete operation, maintenance, and setup of turret punching machines to ensure high-quality production. They must also perform quality inspections, execute machine programs, and maintain 5S standards within the workstation.
